At Yakima, we believe the outdoors is more fun when shared. Shared with friends. And with family. Shared with goofballs, wingmen, dreamers, crushes and jokers. The more the merrier. Because the outdoors is not just about the adventure, it’s about the stories told, the inside jokes and the shared memories. Memories that remain, long after the trip is over. It’s been 35 years now, and we not only make safe, secure racks for your gear, what we really do is make room for butts in seats. AKA more people competing for the shotgun seat. More people to belt out the best 80′s ballads. More backseat drivers. More shoulders to use as pillows when you fall asleep. Because we believe if you’re gonna go, you should Take More Friends. With those friends comes loyalty. Reliability. Trust. All things we at Yakima aim to practice everyday. As a business. As product engineers. As social adventurers ourselves. We don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk. Or if you prefer, run the run, bike the bike, or hike the hike. We promise we’ll do all we can to be there for you, so you can be there for your Road Trip mates. At Yakima, we’re extremely proud of what we do. Because we’re not just making the world’s finest car racks – we’re getting the gear out of the car and more friends in!

Go DoubleDown I drive a Honda Element and had been putting my bike in my vehicle for 2+ years. It can be a little labor intensive and can take an 15+ minutes of my day taking out my kid’s car seats, folding up the rear seats, taking off the bike’s front wheel (and then putting everything back again before the family can go out again). I finally talked my wife into letting me get a hitch mount rack and I’m glad I bought the DoubleDown. I almost made the mistake of buying “cheaper” and I’m glad I didn’t;…

Not what I expected . Doubledown = Double trouble I picked up this rack after reading a few reviews online. It is well constructed and attractively finished. Everything seemed great until I actually mounted the bikes and went on a trip. After about 20 miles I stopped to get gas an found the rubber cradles shifted. All cradles were clamped as tight as…

Yakima DoubleDown 4 – One year review Purchased this product one year ago. Rack is used for road and mountain bikes, all frames are different shapes and sizes. Securely holds bikes without damaging them. Bikes will not move when all straps are used. Well built heavy duty unit. Very little wear and tear after one year of use. Fold down arms and fold down mast feature work well. Individual bike cradles are movable and adjustable for any frame or spacing between bikes. Fold down mast allows access to back hatch (Jeep Cherokee)…
